Credits/Hours: 6 Credits
Extensive instruction in the theory and practicum of topside and underwater survey inspections using the magnetic particle process and topside inspection using the dye penetrant process. Students learn setup and calibration techniques and testing procedures. Practical experience is gained on a variety of test pieces. Students also gain knowledge in the process of identifying, evaluating, and categorizing discontinuities with respect to their acceptance or rejection in accordance with industry codes and standards. Training is in accordance with ASNT recommended practice number: SNT-TC-1A for MT and PT Level II training and Canadian Standard 48.9712 as per I.S.O. 9000 series.
