Mechanical and Electrical Systems (5 quarter credit units). This course introduces the mechanical and electrical systems that are used in building systems for environmental control, water supply and waste elimination, fire protection and acoustics. Electrical fundamentals and the basic operation of electrical equipment, such as motors and power distribution, and communications systems are presented. Sustainability and energy consideration in the constructed environment are also covered. Prerequisites: None.
