Credits/Hours: 4 Credits

Course provides introduction to billing and coding procedures including: principles of ICD-9-CM coding, introduction to current procedural terminology-4 and HCPCS, procedural coding based on principles of CPT coding, and third party reimbursement. Provides students with fundamentals of a classification system used in the health care industry and enables students to obtain a working knowledge of the coding process.

Prerequisite: CST205.
