The Associate of Science degree in Hyperbaric Medical Technology is designed to prepare students with little or no previous medical training for a meaningful career in hyperbaric medicine. The program provides training in all areas of hyperbarics and diving medicine including scope of practice health field source training, advanced diving medicine, certified hyperbaric technician training, hyperbaric safety director training, wound healing training, medical coding and billing, as well as medical office management.

The curriculum includes a balance of lecture and practical hands-on courses to develop the skills and experience needed in the hyperbaric field, and to include the clinical internship contact hours required by the certifying national board in order to qualify for the certifying examination. Graduates will be qualified to work in both hospital and independent clinical environments and in either multiplace or monoplace chamber facilities.
