There are three tiers of faculty at the College — full-time, part-time, and adjunct.
Full-time faculty are members of the College whose primary responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, service, intellectual coordination with the part-time faculty, professional development, student advising and participation in the College's governance.
Part-time faculty are skilled teachers who make a half-time commitment to the College faculty over the course of the year. Their primary responsibilities include teaching, advising students on course, program, or career-related issues, participating in departmental, divisional and College activities, and engage in scholarship relevant to their teaching.
Adjunct faculty teach one course at a time, advise students on course-related topics and participate in faculty development activities without a need for deeper commitment to other aspects of College life.
All levels of faculty are respected professionals with many years of career experience. Many faculty hold undergraduate and graduate degrees. Learning is facilitated through lectures, outside reading, class discussions, case studies, laboratory, and technical hands-on experiences, and research projects relating to problems within students' interests.
The extensive knowledge of adult learners and the diversity of their backgrounds add a level of richness to the group-learning experience. The average age of students attending the College is 24 with a typical range of 18 to 34.
