The National Polytechnic College of Science provides programs to participants regardless of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, veteran status, marital status, and sexual orientation as long as the student can meet the academic and technical standards to safely participate in the program. The College complies with Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 with respect to both students and employees with disabilities.
Please refer to the specific requirements of each program under the appropriate division section.
Proof of Identity: Each person will be required to demonstrate proof of identity by producing a state or federal photo ID and a social security card bearing the individual's name.
Age: Some certificates and programs require a student to be eighteen years or older on or before his or her graduation date.
Education: An applicant must present to the College one of the following:
- An official high school transcript from an accredited high school;
- A recognized equivalent of an official high school transcript (for example, a GED); or
- An official academic transcript reflecting successful completion of 90 quarter credits or 60 semester credits that are transferable towards a degree. (This document is in lieu of a high school diploma or GED.)
Official high school transcripts must show a graduation date and the grade point average. GED transcripts must show test scores. Transcripts must be official and sealed.
Residency Requirement: The College accepts numerous sources of transfer credit. However, to qualify for a certificate or the conferring of a degree, students must complete a minimum of 25% of the program credit units through National Polytechnic College of Science.
Application and Acceptance: A candidate must set up an interview appointment with an Admissions Advisor. The interview may be conducted by telephone for those living outside the immediate area. The purpose of this interview is to review with the candidate the requirements of the College and to review his/her background and qualifications for admission. The candidate who meets the requirements and has the recommendation of the Admissions Advisor will fill out an enrollment application and pay the appropriate application fee.
The candidate will be notified by telephone and/or by letter of the status of his/her application. All entrance requirements and documentation should be completed and turned in by the class start date. It is the responsibility of the applicant to meet these requirements in a timely manner.
Use of Social Security Number: Applicants must include their social security number where indicated on the application for admission forms. The social security number is used to identify student records, including records for financial aid eligibility and the disbursement and repayment of financial aid and other debts payable to the College.
College Transcript Requests to Other Institutions: Transfer credit earned at other institutions cannot be considered without official transcripts. The student is responsible in obtaining official transcripts, including payment of associated fees.

The Office of the Registrar will not accept hand-carried transcripts or transcripts "issued to student" as official documents unless in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution.
Transcripts from other institutions that have been presented for admission or evaluation become a part of the student's academic file and are not returned or copied for distribution.
Transcripts from international institutions of higher education may require a credit recommendation by a recognized evaluation service selected by the College. Applicants are responsible for any required evaluation fees. The final decision on awarding credit is made by the College, which carefully considers the evaluation service's recommendations. Financial Assistance: Applicants requesting financial assistance are referred to the Financial Aid Office to determine financial aid eligibility and to initiate required paperwork. Please refer to the Financial Aid section.
Enrollment: Applicants who have made arrangements for payment of tuition and who have been assigned classes are considered enrolled. If classes are full, applicants will be put on stand-by status for those classes or moved to a different start date where space is available. Once an applicant starts attending classes, the applicant becomes an active student either on a conditional bases (pending processing of required paperwork) or as admissions complete status.
Education Sponsored by Vocational Rehabilitation, Workforce Investment Act, or Other Sponsoring Agencies: Before a student can be enrolled in a sponsored program, application must be made by the student through the sponsoring agency. Enrollment is arranged by the sponsoring agency in consultation with the College.
Readmittance to the College: To be readmitted to the College following withdrawal or dismissal, a student should contact the Office of the Registrar to obtain a Readmittance Form. The application will be reviewed for:
- Satisfactory academic progress
- Attendance record
- Ability to pay
- Monies owed to the College and payment history
- Default or collection status
- Last course successfully completed
- Anticipated length of program
- Other program-related requirements
Readmittance may be contingent on factors such as auditing classes, making advance payments, and other program specific requirements.
NOTE: For breaks more than six months, readmitted students will be readmitted under the catalog then in effect, including, but not limited to, academic requirements, policies and procedures, and tuition rates.
International Students – Admission: Applicants who require a Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status, should contact an admissions advisor for information on special admission requirements. Prospective international students must establish means of financial support, provide official transcripts of previous education in order to establish academic eligibility and fulfill an English Language Proficiency requirement.
NOTE: The College is required to maintain student records and to furnish the information to appropriate U.S. Federal Agencies upon request.
English Language Proficiency: Academic programs at the College are taught entirely in English. Some Extended Learning courses may be offered in Spanish. International students are required to prove English proficiency through the recognized English language proficiency exams. The English Language Proficiency requirement can be fulfilled with one of the following:
- Providing proof of a Baccalaureate or a Master's degree from a U.S. accredited college or university.
- Satisfactory completion of a language proficiency test such as a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) taken within 12 months before beginning course work. An acceptable TOEFL score is 475.

Program Expenses: The College is not responsible or liable for any costs incurred for the program, including, but not limited to, any out-of-pocket costs, relocation expenses, or any consequential damages of any kind.
International Students: The College is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant, international applicants. International applicants are required to meet the same admission requirements as U.S. citizens. In addition, they must:
- Demonstrate their financial means (i.e., that they can pay tuition and living expenses while enrolled at the College) to complete their training by supplying the College with documentation, such as bank statements and affidavits;
- Pay one-third of their tuition by the start date of each academic year;
- Pay the balance of their tuition in full by the end of each academic year, which balance may be paid in monthly installments;
- Make all payments to the College in U.S. currency;
- Be aware that employment may not be available while attending College; and
- Pay international application fee.
After acceptance to the College, admittance personnel will complete and mail to the applicant an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for Non-immigrant Student. The applicant must take his/her I-20 to the American Consulate in his/her home country. The American Consulate will issue an F-I Visa, which must be attached to the applicant's passport.
