Age
A student must be 18 years of age or older on or before their graduation date. Some certificates and programs require a student to be 18 years or older on or before his or her graduation date.
Educational Requirements
Applicants must furnish evidence of a high school diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) Certificate, or state-approved high school equivalency. Learn more about GEDs in California at the California Department of Education or the American Council on Education.
Information/Tour
Prospective students should contact Admissions for information about the College, a tour of the campus and training facilities, and an interview. Admissions personnel are available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to assist prospective students with all aspects of the application and enrollment process.
Application and Acceptance
A candidate must set up an interview appointment with an Admissions Advisor. The interview may be conducted by telephone for those living outside Southern California. The purpose of this interview is to review with the candidate the requirements of the College and to review his or her background and qualifications for admission.
The College makes the final determination as to the applicant's acceptance.
Due to special needs and on-the-job circumstances, certain programs have additional admissions requirements. See the description of specific programs for additional details.
The College reserves the right to deny an application if requirements are not met.
Application Form and Fee
An Application Form can be obtained through one of the following methods:
- You can fill out our Online Application Form, and avoid mailing.
- You can print out a copy of our Printable Application Form as a text file.
- You can obtain an Application Form from the National Polytechnic College of Science Admissions Office by calling (800) 432-3483 (within the United States), (310) 816-5700, or (858) 309-3500.

Class Space
Class space is assigned according to the date the application form and fee are received. If the requested class is filled, the registrant will be assigned to the next available class, or to an earlier class, if space becomes available. All start date changes are subject to the approval of the registrant.
International Students
English Language Proficiency: Academic programs at the College are taught entirely in English. Some Extended Learning courses may be offered in Spanish. International students are required to prove English proficiency through the recognized English language proficiency exams. The English Language Proficiency requirement can be fulfilled with one of the following:
- Providing proof of a Baccalaureate or a Master's degree from a U.S. accredited college or university.
- Satisfactory completion of a language proficiency test such as a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) taken within 12 months before beginning course work. An acceptable TOEFL score is 475.

Student Visa F-1 (non-immigrant Student Status)
After acceptance to the College, admittance personnel will complete and mail to the applicant an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for Non-immigrant Students. The applicant must take the I-20 form to the American Consulate in his or her home country. The American Consulate will issue an F-1 Visa which must be attached to the applicant's passport.
The applicant must arrange to report to the campus on the regular orientation date.
