Education/Certifications

Dan Fredrickson has an Associate of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Mohegan College in Connecticut and was a Navy Chief and First Class diver for 22 years, as well as an Emergency Hyperbaric Medical Technician for the Navy and for the State of Hawaii for 16 years.   In that role, Dan treated more than 50 decompression cases and road on more than 300 hyperbaric medical treatments.

Dan's background also includes extensive experience in ship's husbandry, salvage, mixed gas diving, and underwater cutting and welding. In addition, Dan taught Navy diving school for three years and served in the first Gulf war as a Team Leader of Explosive Ordinance Team. He is certified in surface and underwater explosives and as a high pressure welder, and is a national board certified boiler and pressure vessel inspector.

Spending two years as a contractor for several commercial diving companies in the Gulf of Mexico, Dan built and trained divers and tenders on the operation and maintenance of saturation diving systems including diving A/C, heating systems, mixed gas reclamation, and testing and mixing.  In addition, Dan is a published author of the book, True Stories of Navy Divers- BOHICA.
