Personal Statement

Mark Brown has an extensive prehospital care background and ocean-related background including NAUI Dive Instructor, San Diego Lifeguard Dive Team, and United States Lifesaving Association Ocean Lifeguard Certification.  He is a currently certified paramedic, is Advanced Cardiac Life Support certified, and has a Masters in Educational Technology from San Diego State University.

He has been teaching Emergency Medical Technicians for over 25 years at both Miramar College and Southwestern College EMT Programs.  He is a former LifeFlight paramedic, SWAT medic, Swiftwater Rescue Technician, and High Angle Rescue Technician.  Mark stills works seasonally as an ocean lifeguard at La Jolla Cove.
