Kevin B. Casey, President, National Polytechnic College of Science
Kevin Casey became the fifth President of the National Polytechnic College of Science in November 2002. Mr. Casey earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Science in Applied Mechanics from Catholic University of America, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. He began his career with General Electric and worked for the U.S. Army Europe and the Federal Republic of Germany Defense Department.
Mr. Casey's professional experience in higher education includes positions at Catholic University and Gallaudet University, where he served as Director of the Computer Center prior to joining National University in 1995 as Associate Vice President for Information Technologies. In 1996, he was promoted to the position of National University Vice President for Administration and Business. Mr. Casey has worked closely with National Polytechnic since it became a part of the National University System in January 2002.
Mr. Casey is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery. Mr. Casey and his wife, Meg, have resided in Carmel Valley since coming to San Diego. They are the proud parents of three sons and grandparents of seven. David Waller, Executive Vice President
David Waller, who became the Executive Vice President of National Polytechnic College of Science on March 1, 2008, has been with the National University System since 1987. He has served in roles including admissions advisor and Director of Student Services for National University and as Associate Regional Dean since 1999, overseeing National University's Costa Mesa and Orange campuses. Mr. Waller holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Master's in Counseling Psychology, both from National University. As Executive Vice President, Mr. Waller will oversee the academic and administrative areas of the College. He is responsible for the expansion of the programs and enrollments of the College and for increasing levels of quality across the institution. Nancy Herbst, Vice President of Administration
Nancy Herbst has over 20 years experience in business and law. She received her Master's in Business Administration from National University, and is a member of the Sigma Beta Delta society. She joined the College after spending two years with National University, where she was formerly the Director of Regional Administration. Lida Castillo, Director of Financial Aid
Lida has over 10 years of experience in the administration of Title IV Federal Financial Aid. Lida joined the private sector of postsecondary education after receiving her B.A. in Public Policy and Administration from Cal State University, Bakersfield. She has since held positions as Financial Aid Administrator and Supervisor at the Campus and Corporate levels and is a member of Financial Aid Associations: National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrator (NASFAA) and California Association Student Financial Aid Administrator (CASFAA). Shelly Mitchell, Director of Admissions
Shelly has over ten years of experience in higher education. She received her Bachelor's of Business Administration and her Master's in Educational Counseling from National University while working as an admissions advisor for over six years. Shelly came to National Polytechnic College in 2004 as an admissions advisor and later became the College's Registar. In 2007, she supported the Honolulu campus as the Associate Regional Dean, and in 2008 she returned to California and is the College's Director of Admissions. Ella Jean Morgan, Director of Accreditation and Institutional Assessment
Ella Jean has a B.S. in Biology from California State at Los Angeles and a M.A. in Occupational Studies from California State University at Long Beach. Ella Jean has more than 20 years of diving experience in various countries and has expertise in research diving and underwater photography. She is co-author of the book "When Women Dive," and numerous magazine and journal articles. Ella Jean's background includes experience as an administrator for the USC School of Medicine and in operating her own business. Jonathon Osorio, Registrar
Jon has valuable experience working in various administrative roles in higher education institutions. He began this tenure working at Stephen F. Austin State University while attending college towards his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Jon has been with the National University System for five years and spent four of those years in National University's Registrars Office. He most recently held the role of supervisor in National University's Graduation Department before joining National Polytechnic College of Science as Registrar in the summer of 2007. Jon earned a Master of Science degree in Public Administration at National University and has always had an interest in working with non-profit institutions.
